Jewellery Care Guide

Keep your vintage pieces beautiful and radiant for generations.

"Vintage jewellery is a living art form. With the right care, your pieces will tell their story for generations to come."

Daily Care Tips

Avoid WaterRemove all jewellery before bathing, swimming, washing dishes or exercising. Even small amounts of water can tarnish metal and loosen stone settings over time.
No Perfumes or ChemicalsAlways put on jewellery last — after perfume, hairspray and makeup. Chemical compounds in these products react with metals and cause discolouration.
Remove During ExerciseSweat contains salts and acids that accelerate tarnishing. Always remove jewellery before workouts or any physical activity.
Remove Before SleepingSleeping in jewellery can cause chains to tangle, clasps to break and stones to become loose. Make it a habit to remove before bed.

How to Clean Your Jewellery

For Regular Cleaning

  1. Wipe with a soft, dry lint-free cloth after each wear
  2. Remove oils, dust and light dirt gently — do not scrub
  3. Use a specialised jewellery polishing cloth for gold-plated pieces

For Deeper Cleaning

  1. Mix a few drops of mild soap in lukewarm water
  2. Dip a soft toothbrush and gently clean intricate areas
  3. Rinse quickly under clean water — do not soak
  4. Pat dry immediately with a soft cloth
  5. Leave to air dry completely before storing
Never use ultrasonic cleaners, harsh chemicals, bleach, toothpaste or abrasive cloths on vintage or plated jewellery.

Storage Guide

Store each piece separately Prevents scratching and tangling
Use velvet pouches or lined boxes Absorbs moisture and prevents oxidation
Keep in a cool, dry place Away from humidity and temperature extremes
Store away from direct sunlight UV rays fade enamel and affect stone colour
Don't store in plastic bags Traps moisture and accelerates tarnishing
Don't pile pieces together Causes scratches and broken chains

Care by Material

💛 Gold-Plated Jewellery

Wipe with a dry cloth after use. Avoid water, sweat and chemicals. The plating will last longer with gentle handling. Re-plating is available for heavily worn pieces.

⚪ Silver Jewellery

Silver tarnishes naturally over time. Use a silver polishing cloth regularly. Store in anti-tarnish pouches. For heavy tarnish, use a paste of baking soda and water, rinse and dry.

🔴 Kundan & Stone-Set Pieces

Never submerge in water — stones can loosen. Wipe gently with a damp cloth around stones only. Store flat to prevent stones from shifting.

🎨 Meenakari Enamel

Handle with extra care — enamel can chip if knocked. Clean with a soft dry cloth only. Avoid harsh chemicals that can dull the colours.

🌊 Freshwater Pearls

Wipe with a damp cloth after wearing — skin oils dull the lustre. Store separately in a soft pouch. Keep away from perfumes and acidic substances.
